The white wall of Egypt's oldest capital discovered by Russian archaeologists

 
The Russian mission working at Mit Rahina village on a concessions consists of 3 parts (Kom Tuman, Kom Dawbabi and Tell Aziziya) has successfully discovered a part of the white wall the once surrounded Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt at Kom Tuman.
Minister of antiquities, Dr. Mamdouh El Damaty announced today.
The mission director Dr. Galina A Belova said "A number of pottery making ovens and bronze tools were also found. The excavations will continue and we will be working on unearthing the rest of the wall as well as any archaeological elements which could help us to know more about this early period of the Egyptian history."
