Against Government Budget Cuts!

The Trump Administration's budget for fiscal year 2020 proposes to drastically cut the budget for the Department of State's Bureau of Educational Affairs and to completely eliminate all funding for the Department of Education's Title VI programs. If these cuts are enacted by Congress, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers will lose all of their funding from these two sources. In turn, the $220,000 per year supporting ARCE's 55-year-long research fellowship program in Egypt could be lost.

You can help in challenging these budget cuts. CAORC has drafted a letter for you to send to your members of Congress opposing the cuts. We also strongly encourage that you call your representative directly, as this is often more effective than mailing alone.
