Experience Egypt the way you've never seen it before! Bryan Kraemer, Co-Director of the Wadi el-Hudi expedition, is leading an exclusive (4-10 people) tour of Southern Egypt, the Eastern Desert, and Lake Nasser for seasoned, adventurous travelers.
Climb mountains behind the Valley of the Kings. See archaeological sites tourists don't go to in Aswan and Luxor. Journey to Wadi el-Hudi to see the ancient amethyst mines, fortresses, and inscriptions. Visit Roman granite quarries, temples, and forts in the Eastern Desert. Drink coffee with the Ababda bedouin. Snorkel or dive in the Red Sea. See lost masterpieces of ancient rock art inscribed on mountains of awe-inspiring natural beauty. Sleep under the stars in the desert. Visit a remote Islamic saint's shrine. Sail on Lake Nasser seeing sites lost even to archaeologists. Enjoy traditional Nubian singing and more.

THE FINE PRINT (PLEASE READ)
The specific itinerary and schedule within Egypt are subject to change. Participants should be physically fit to hike up mountains on rocky terrain and willing to "rough it." (Roughing it will include riding in a Toyota Land Cruiser for several hours, sleeping on the deck of a boat for one night, eating lunches in the desert, relieving oneself outside, and more). People are NOT allowed to remove any objects from any archaeological site, even a piece of pottery. Participants are required to purchase his/her own travel insurance and are solely responsible in the case of an emergency. The cost of this tour will benefit the Wadi el-Hudi Expedition and can be counted as a tax deductable donation. Persons interested in the tour will be asked to provide a $300 deposit to reserve their spaces. If we do not secure a minimum of four participants by Aug. 25, the trip will be cancelled, and you can request for your $300 deposit to be returned. If we have enough participants, the remainder of the balance must be paid by Sept. 1, 2019. Contact Kate Liszka, kate.liszka@csusb.edu for details. If you choose to cancel the trip, your payment will not be refunded. If the trip needs to be cancelled due to political events in Egypt, a refund will not be given by the Wadi el-Hudi Expedition.
