CAIRO – 25 June 2020: Kafr El-Sheikh Museum received a collection of huge artifacts from Tel Al-Fara'een area in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. This is in preparation for the artifacts' permanent display at Kafr El-Sheikh Museum, which is scheduled to open soon.

For his part, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri accompanied Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Engineering Affairs and Supervisor of historical Cairo Hisham Samir, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Minister's Office Affairs Ahmed Obaid and Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities Momen Osman on an inspection tour at the museum to follow the latest updates of the development work and the process of placing artifacts according to the museum's display scenario.

Waziri affirmed that the process of transporting the artifacts was carried out with great care and accuracy and in accordance with the internationally accepted methods and scientific standards. The statues that were transported to the museum are statues depicting King Ramses II standing and sitting, and with the goddess Sekhmet, in addition to a progressive painting of King Thutmose III, two stone blocks (architectural element), and the head of one of the kings of the 30th Dynasty.

For his part, Hisham Samir explained that the construction works in the museum, securing the museum with camera surveillance systems, lighting and testing the alarm system have all been completed.

Moreover, Ahmed Obaid said that during the tour the general location of the museum and the ongoing work have been inspected in coordination with Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate authorities, to better the condition of the surrounding streets, the main entrance of the museum and the surrounding area.

That is in addition to inspecting service buildings, interior site coordination work, service areas, identification boards, explanatory maps and guiding boards, and reviewing the installation work for the museum presentation, which is being implemented by the Egyptian Optical Company
