Osirisnet a le plaisir de vous présenter une nouvelle tombe thébaine : la tombe TT82 d'Amenemhat, qui date de l'époque de Thoutmosis III.

Amenemhat est "Intendant du vizir" et "scribe comptable du grain dans le grenier de l'offrande divine d'Amon". Il nous apparaît donc comme un personnage subalterne et pourtant, c'est un dignitaire riche et cultivé, qui a une grande connaissance des croyances religieuses, ce qui est d'autant plus surprenant qu'il n'a ni titre ni fonction de prêtrise. C'est ainsi qu'il réutilise des extraits des Textes des Pyramides, le grand corpus de l'Ancien Empire, comme peu de notables de son temps le font.
Sa tombe est particulièrement riche en informations sur les idées de mort et de renaissance et sur les croyances divines en général, et représente une source d'information de première importance sur les pratiques funéraires de l'époque.
Bien que traditionaliste, Amenemhat n'est pas fermé aux pratiques nouvelles, et c'est ainsi que les plus anciennes briques magiques connues à ce jour proviennent de la tombe TT82

Amenemhat is "steward of the Vizier", as well as "scribe who reckons the corn in the granary of the divine offerings of Amun," during the reign of Tuthmosis III. Though he appears as a subordinate personage to us, he is a rich and cultured dignitary.
Amenemhat had profound knowledge of religious beliefs and of the most complex myths, an astonishing accomplishment for someone not holding any priestly office. For instance, he reused spells from the Pyramid Texts, the great funerary corpus of the Old Kingdom, something few notables of his time were capable of doing.
Amenemhat was able to create  a tomb rich in information about the Egyptian ideas about of death and rebirth, and divine beliefs in general. So much so that TT82 is an essential source of knowledge concerning the funeral practices of the time.
While punctiliously respecting traditions, Amenemhat was also an innovator, and it is in his tomb that the oldest known magic bricks have been discovered.
