MofA Dedicating ASAE #88 to Egyptologist Attia Radwan.وزارة-الآثار-172009302844728/

The Ministry of Antiquities is dedicating the ANNALES DU SERVICE DES ANYIQUITÉS DE L'ÉGYPTE (ASAE) volume number 88 to commemorate the late Egyptologist Attia Radwan.
Dr. Hussein Bassir, the General Director of the Scientific Publication Department (SPD) at the Ministry of Antiquities explains that the ASAE volume 88 has several reports and articles on different Egyptological topics written by Egyptian and foreign Egyptologists and archaeologists as well as a book review by Dr. Campbell Price on "Voice and Image in Saite Egypt: Self-Presentations of Neshor Named Psamtikmenkhib and Payeftjauemawyneith, written by Bassir. Wilkinson Egyptology Series Volume II. Tucson: University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition".

Dr. Bassir pointed out that Radwan was one of the most significant Egyptian archaeologists at the Ministry of Antiquities as he held several prestigious positions. He was the Head of the Museums Sector and the Head of the Central Administration of Upper Egypt and Oases Antiquities at ancient Egyptian Antiquities Sector.

Radwan started his career as inspector of ancient Egyptian antiquities of Dakahliya in 1978, then held several positions in the ministry's echelon in Abu Simbel, Aswan and Nubia antiquities. In 2001 he was promoted to general director of the Desert Antiquities Administration, and general director of the Excavation Administration and supervisor of the Under-Water Archaeology Administration at ancient Egyptian Antiquities Sector in 2002, as well as a member of the permanent committee of ancient Egyptian antiquities. In 2005 he became the general director of the Delta, Sinai, and Northern Coast Antiquities and In 2007 he became the Head of the Central Administration of Upper Egypt and oasis. He was the Head of the Museums Sector, then the Head of the Egyptian antiquities museum at the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, Italy.

The ASAE volume 88 comes in recognition of the great achievements, sincere dedication, and hard work which Radwan has done to Egypt, its antiquities and museums
