The antiquities unit at Cairo International Airport foiled a smuggling attempt of a large collection of law books

Egyptian authorities recovered a collection of 761 law books and volumes that date back to the 1900's on Tuesday at Cairo International Airport.

The antiquities unit at Cairo International Airport succeeded to stop the illegal smuggling of a collection of 761 law books and volumes that were bound for Kuwait.

The antiquities unit is under the authority of the ministry of antiquities at Egypt's ports to verify and confirm the authenticity of antiquities and prevent robberies.

Ahmed El-Rawi, the head of the antiquities unit, told Ahram Online that early inspections revealed that the books bear the stamp and logo of the Lawyers Syndicate. All of the collection of books and volumes are about French and Egyptian laws that date back to the early 1900's.

The antiquities unit at the airport, explained El-Rawi, stopped the smuggling attempt before the books were sent to Kuwait, that were found among a huge collection of parcels in the cargo terminal at Cairo airport.

The collection is now in custody so it can be handed over to the Lawyers Syndicate after the completion of investigations.
