The Fifth British Egyptology Congress | Egypt Exploration Society

The Fifth British Egyptology Congress

The British Egyptology Congress provides a platform for researchers to present their ongoing projects and discoveries to a broad audience of peers and the interested public through presentations or posters.

The Congress is held by the Egypt Exploration Society every two years in collaboration with a British host institution. In 2020, the Fifth British Egyptology Congress will be hosted by Durham University (hence the choice of banner image). Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, the Congress will be held online over September and October 2020. Details of the event can be found using the 'Book' link below.

Register in advance using the links below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the panel(s) you have chosen to attend. Our panels have a limited attendance capacity, so please only sign up if you're confident that you can attend. We recommend that you join our online events using a PC or laptop.

Speakers will have to transition with each other during the event and are presenting from across the world. Internet connections may be temperamental, so we ask for your patience with any technical problems that we may encounter.

Please ensure that you have read our 'guide to attending EES online events' before the lecture begins:

Donate By contributing to the Egypt Exploration Society, you help to ensure that its valuable work in Egyptology continues. We depend on your generosity and donations of any size are gratefully received. Find out more
