Northern California ARCE Sedge and Bee 2019 pins and party Jan. 13: You're invited!

Happy New Year, members and friends of the Order of the Sedge and Bee!

Our 2019 pins have arrived! In fashionable ochre (see photo below) and just in time for our first 2019 party, Sunday Jan. 13 from 1-5 pm at Dave and Teri Kuhlmann's home in San Jose's Willow Glen neighborhood. (The ARCE lecture is the following Sunday, the 20th.)

Teri's plans include a game/games for which she requests an RSVP. She says: "I have both an Egyptian Escape Room game and a Mesopotamia Archeology Dig Murder Mystery. Which do you think we should do or should we do both?  The Murder mystery suggests we dress up in costumes and hand out parts, but I don't think we have to do that.  The Egyptian Escape Room says it's for up to 4 players but I think more can play after reading it last night. We could also possibly do two rooms and see which group escapes first.  The murder mystery has 8 characters, but it already has the materials copied for 16 players."

I'll bring Middle Eastern food from Holy Land Restaurant in Santa Clara. Other menu items potluck.

Your Sedge and Bee dues ($40 single, $60 couple) go entirely to fund ARCE Northern California programs and are fully tax deductible.
They help keep our speaker series free to the public and help fund $1,000 in Marie Buttery student grants that the chapter disburses each year to Northern California students of Egyptology. Pay via PayPal on the chapter website (preferred, but please add $3 for PayPal fees), send a check to Al Berens, 1901 Chelsea Way, Redwood City, CA 94061,writing on the check that it's for S&B, or bring the money to the party on the 13th.

We welcome any and all ideas for other activities in 2019: possibly a video watching party, playing senet, or picnic at the Rosicrucian Park. Also perhaps a garden party because I got a terrific Victorian-style white dress at 60 percent off.

Life, prosperity, health,
Barbara Wilcox
President, ARCE Northern California

P.S. Our 501 c 3 number (for tax deduction etc) is 47-0891218.

P.P.S. Teri requests a headcount. Please respond.
