Heritage events in Bolton this week
THERE is a chance to go behind the scenes of Bolton Central Library and Museum's Egyptology gallery this week.
Heritage institutions across the country are hosting events to engage the public with world civilisations.
It is to coincide with the new BBC2 programme Civilisations which started last night with Simon Schama, Mary Beard and David Olusga and will run every week over the next couple of months.
A series of events are being run in Bolton as part of the festival and are free too attend.
Each day this week until Friday a Egypt object handling session will be held and people will have the chance to find out about the gallery's progression and look at some of the objects.
Tomorrow and on Saturday from 1pm until 2pm there will be a tour all about the history of Hall I'th'Wood, at the museum there.
It is a chance to find out about its past and developments going on at the hall and also get a behind the scenes look at the attic space.
On Wednesday from 12.30pm until 1.15pm there will be talk in Bolton Central Museum's lecture theatre about Egypt as well.
On Friday at 3pm a behind the scenes look at the Egypt galleries will be held.
This event has limited numbers and a spot must be booked on Eventbrite.
