About the Database of Religious History
The DRH is a platform for unprecedented academic collaboration that maintains commitment to a rigorous, scholarly standard, and a deep appreciation for interdisciplinary work in the sciences and humanities. It has been built to explore and rigorously test functionalist theories of religion by collecting hundreds of variables on past societies that are clearly located in space and time.Complex multivariate analysis of this growing dataset in order to uncover the relationship between religion and prosociality remains the primary goal of the DRH. It also allows users to access built-in analytic and data visualization functions to answer questions relevant to their own research.
