Rumour: Assassin's Creed is heading to Ancient Egypt

And it's like Skyrim somehow?

The next Assassin's Creed game is called Assassin's Creed Origins, and takes place in Ancient Egypt, WWG reports.

The prominent gaming site claims that anonymous Ubisoft sources fed it that information, which fits with an earlier Kotaku report (although Kotaku stated the game's title was Assassin's Creed Empire).

According to WWG, the game is even larger and less linear than prior Assassin's Creed games, places more of an emphasis on exploration than before, and weirdly, is being compared internally at Ubisoft to Skyrim.

It supposedly starts in ancient Egypt, but players will be able to sail as far away as Greece. There will be naval combat, and there are apparently two protagonists – a man and a woman.

According to WWG, a reveal is coming at E3 2017, and the game will launch in spring this year.
