Three Nubian temples to be maintained: Antiquities Minister CAIRO – 19 May 2017: The Ministry of Antiquities will allocate a sum of money to maintain Nubia's temples including Derr and Amada temples, and Wadi el-Sebua temple, as well as the tomb of Pennut, according to a Friday press statement by Antiquities Ministry.
The Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani promised to provide an urgent budget for the maintenance of the three temples after he inspected these archeological sites.
Nasr Salama the General Manager of Aswan Antiquities said that the minister was keen to listen to the workers' problems in the region and promised to solve them. Al-Anani stressed on the importance of developing the workers residences so that they can carry out their tasks in the best way.
Salama confirmed that the minister instructed him to start renovating the statue of King Ramses II, which is currently in the Nubia Museum warehouse since February, in order to return it to its original location in front of the temple before the end of this year, which was decorated with two statues of the king.
