CAIRO: The museum of Cairo Airport will exhibit 39 ancient artifacts
from different eras to promote tourism in Egypt starting end of October,
an official source at the airport told Youm7 Saturday.
Six artifacts belong to the Coptic Museum, 12 were originally exhibited at the Islamic Museum and 21 pieces are from the Egyptian Museum. The artifacts were transferred from the said museums to the airport under heavy security.
The move comes as part of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Antiquities and the Aviation Ministry.
The airport chose an area of 50-60 meters to hold the museum, the entrance to which will cost $3. The Antiquities Police will secure the museum internally, while the Cairo Airport police will secure it from the outside, the source added.
