Two workshops to fabricate replicas of King Tutankhamun's tomb and some of his treasured collection are to be organised in Luxor to celebrate the city's national day

For two days, the museums section at the Ministry of Antiquities is to celebrate Luxor's national day by organising two workshops at the Luxor and Mummification Museums.

Elham Salah, head of the museums section, told Ahram Online that the workshop at the Luxor Museum is led by a team of students from the Restoration Institute and the Fine Art Faculty who will fabricate a replica of king Tutankhamun's tomb and some of his treasured collection.

The replica tomb, along with the boy king's funerary collection, would beput on display in a special hall inside the museum for the two-day celebration.

At the Mummification Museum, Salah continued, another workshop is to be organised by students from the Fine Arts University and the restoration department at the museum in order to create a replica of King Tutankhamun's mask.

A documentary on the mummification process in ancient Egypt and its role in preserving royal mummies is to be screened.
