The Third Dog of Karakhamun

Karakhamun is known as a big dog lover, and so are the members of the South Asasif Conservation Project.  The beautiful dog under his chair on the north section of the east wall in the First Pillared Hall became the Project's mascot. We also adopted a living version of the dog of Karakhamun.

Our strong belief that Karakhamun will not be satisfied with only one dog helped us to reconstruct the mirror image of Karakhamun's dog on the south section of the east wall.

Two sounded like a reasonable, balanced number and we stopped looking for more. Little did we know. Only this week we realized that Karakhamun's pack was more extensive. Revisiting the boxes with small fragments found in the area of the entrance to the underground part of the tomb (Tornische) we found evidence of the presence of a third dog in the tomb.
