Job Summary

The Department of French and Arabic of Grinnell College invites applications for a two-year appointment Arabic language, literature, and culture beginning Fall 2020. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Research and teaching interests are open but we are especially interested in candidates whose work engages with Arabic film, popular culture, and literature. The successful candidate must be capable of offering engaging courses that meet the students' curiosity about the multiplicity of cultures in the contemporary Middle East. The teaching load is five courses [OR EQUIVALENT] over two semesters.
