(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, OCTOBER 17 - A European tourist was arrested for climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza, the largest and oldest of the three pyramids in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, said the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, without specifying the tourist's nationality.

Police made the man come down from the pyramid and took him into custody while he awaits formal charges.

An Egyptian citizen was arrested last May for the same reason, and last December a Danish man and woman were arrested after climbing the pyramid and making a nude video at the summit. The Great Pyramid of Giza is 149 metres tall, 4,500 years old, and is the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still intact.(ANSAmed).
